What does the Bible teach? What do the scriptures reveal about God and our relationship with Him? This course offers an opportunity to learn the foundations of studying the Bible. It will include an overview of the basic doctrines of Christianity and ways to explore and discover God’s message to us from the scriptures. Through readings and live class meetings, we will examine the scriptures and their direct meaning and application for our lives. Each class will include a time of open discussion when we can go over any question that you may have related to our scriptural topic. We will also be working with resources that will allow you to explore the scriptures in detail in-class and independently. Tim Eaton
Tim is grateful to be a follower of Jesus Christ. Tim submitted his life to Christ in May 2008. He is happily married to his wife Elizabeth since March 2005. He and his wife are both public school teachers in middle Tennessee. Tim has taught third through fifth grade over the past 24 years. Tim has served as a trustee and deacon at his home church, been on two pastor search committees, and served in The Gideons International from 2013 to 2024. Tim’s wife and he are both excited to see how the Lord will use Sanctuary International in the near future!
Pastor Jake Jacobs
Up until the time Jake was 18 years old, he had a strong desire to know who God was and his walk with Him began shortly thereafter. Jake knew early on that he would be involved in ministry. The first church he was involved with was Calvary Chapel where the foundations of his faith was built upon. In time he fulfilled the duties of an associate pastor. Around 1990 he took pastoral studies at Sanctuary South Bay and began a Sanctuary fellowship in the high desert of Southern California. After being ordained by Pastor Bob in the 90’s, Jake has moved to Tennessee and he is now a part of Sanctuary in Mt. Juliet TN. Jake believes that Sanctuary Discipleship Academy will help fellow believers by strengthening their knowledge and understanding of scripture. Hebrews 11:6 shows us that God is the rewarder of those who diligently seek him. If we follow this scripture and diligently seek Him, He will change our lives.
Pastoral Counselor Tiffany Sweeley
Tiffany Sweeley is a Pastoral Christian Counselor, author and worship leader currently living in middle Tennessee. Tiffany holds a Master of Music degree from Indiana University where she majored in Vocal Performance. Tiffany graduated from Tennessee School of Ministry and is finishing her PhD in Christian Counseling. Tiffany works with couples in counseling sharing the lessons she has learned over these past 28 years. Tiffany has been married for 28 years and has two daughters. Her heart’s desire is to minister to the broken hearted and to encourage the Church body by bringing God’s infallible word. Tiffany believes it’s time for the church to rise up and be the light God has called us to be.
Pastor Bob Beeman
2025 marks 50 years that Pastor Bob has been teaching discipleship studies. Coming from the Jesus People movement, Pastor Bob realized that systematic discipleship was one of the missing foundations of the Jesus People Movement. He vowed to always make discipleship the foundation of Christian Rock/Metal movement, and has continued to do so until this day.
Pastor Todd Boe
For over 40 years Pastor Todd has been working in the ministry. He started traveling to teach churches about cults, went on to assist with seminars relating to current events in the ministry, then RAD Studies and continued on as Sanctuary became the first Metal Church ever. His journey has led to being a Pastor at Sanctuary International, Pastoral Counselor working toward his PhD and on to Sanctuary Discipleship Academy to share in the Ways of God, (Psalm 86:11). One of his favorite scriptures is: Zephaniah 3:17 The Lord your God is in the midst of you, a Mighty One, a Savior [Who saves]! He will rejoice over you with joy; He will rest [in silent satisfaction] and in His love He will be silent and make no mention [of past sins, or even recall them]; He will exult over you with singing.
Jamie McCavanagh
Jamie was born and raised in Manchester, Connecticut. He was raised by a Christian woman and a father in politics. He is a proud father of 3 amazing boys. Jamie joined the Sanctuary International family back in 1992. He has been a song writer and band member to several bands since he was young. His studies have consisted of global geopolitics, history and understanding the battle against your relationship with the Creator. He has a never-ending fire to see people set free from what keeps a slave to this world. Perspective is everything. Do we have the right perspective? Jamie is going to challenge that possibility with experience and the word of God.
Chris Keene
Christopher Keene has been a part of the ministry of Sanctuary for over 35 years. He served on staff as an Elder and Associate Pastor in the mid ‘80s and ‘90s at Sanctuary South Bay in Redondo Beach, CA. While there, he led teams for evangelism and outreach, was in charge of drama ministries, taught classes and headed up the Art Reaching The Souls (A.R.T.S.) ministry. In 1994, he relocated to Nashville, TN with a missionary drama team, All The World’s A Stage, that toured and served as a training team from ’94-’98 for the Youth With a Mission (YWAM) base there. In recent years, he has worked on episodes of the podcasts: CREATE! and Some Wise Guys Talking and teaches online Intense Studies – Radically Active Discipleship (RAD) classes for Sanctuary. For the last 24 years, he has worked as a Designer and Associate Professor of Theatre Arts – training students to hone their technical craft while focusing on their Christian faith. He holds a BA in Technical Theatre from Cal State Long Beach and an MFA in Design & Production: Stage Properties from the University of North Carolina, School of the Arts.
