Day 20 Devo - Pray with Confidence

Because of the sarifice of Jesus Christ, which made the way for us to come back to God, we  have been adopted into His family.  We are now God's children, and we are heirs of His many great promises in Christ.  When we pray, we should pray with the assurance and confidence of sons and daughters approaching their Father.

The Spirit Himself testifies with our spirit that we are God's children.  (Romans 8:16)

We also have great assurance because of how much God was willing to pay to redeem us and make us His children again.  If He thought  we were worth dying for, then certainly we can commit our prayers to Him with confidence that they are important to Him, and that He will never withhold any good thing from us.

He Who did not spare His own Son, but gave Him up for us all - how will He not also, along with Him graciously give us all thing.  (Romans 8:32)

We also have great confidence because Jesus Himself is our great high priest.  As a man, He experienced everything that we must endure.  Because of this, we know He is sympathetic to all of our earthly needs.

• Read Herews 4:14-16.

Point to Ponder:

Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence . . .   (Hebrews 4:16)

In Him (Jesus)  and through faith in Him we may approach God with freedom and confidence. (Ephesians 3:12)
