Lesson 3 - The Glory of the Son

In the verses we read yesterday from John chapter 1, John talked abut having seen the glory of Christ.

"The Word became flesh and lived for a while among us. We have seen His glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth."

                                                        (John 1 :14)

The apostle John was one who saw the glory of the Son of God with his own eyes. The first time that he saw it was during the time that Jesus was still on earth as a man.

    - Read Matthew 17: 1-9.

Jesus wants us to be with Him and forever see His glory, and that is the destiny of all those who love Him. The desire to see Him glorified is the purest and holiest desire we can ever have.

The following verse is John 17: 24, as Jesus is praying to the Father shortly before His crucifixion.

"Father, I want those you have given me to be with me where I am, and to see my glory, the glory You have given me because You loved me before the creation of the world.

Point to Ponder:

The greatest thrill of all time will be the day we enter the Kingdom of God. With our own eyes we'll see our mighty Lord Jesus sitting on His throne in heavenly glory, arrayed in all His kingly splendor, shining like the sun for all eternity.
